Painted and other goodies…oh yes, and a sample menu!

I dropped by the bakery yesterday to find that the paint has dried on the walls and it looks great!  The colors look very nice together.

Something else new and exciting is that we’ve got our aprons from Twin Roses Designs!  www.twinrosesdesigns.com Andrea and Garry did an amazing job on them and stunned us by sending mini aprons for the kids!  They’re over the moon.  There are a couple for Stephane that are a little less feminine, but those for Brook and I to wear are 30-40’s style, VERY long (LOVE it!) and have a bit of flow to them.

I’ve been asked quite a bit about our menu.  What do we plan to serve?  Well, what follows should help you get some small idea.  This won’t be daily, but it will be an example of what we can do:

Bread

 

Sourdough, Seed (sunflower, hulled millet, flax and poppy seeds), Country French, Honey Whole Wheat, Spelt, Asiago, Challah, Pita (Whole Wheat and Honey White Whole Wheat), Rye, English Muffins, Baguettes, Focaccia, Ciabatta, White Whole Wheat, Italian Boule, Cheese breadsticks, Sesame Loaf, Sesame Breadsticks

 

** All loaves available as full-loaf and loaflette, an individual-sized loaf ideal for snacking or sandwiches!

 

Pastry

 

Hand-rolled Butter Croissants

Hand-rolled danish with hand-made topping whether it be cream cheese, apple, cherry, huckleberry, raspberry, Flathead cherry, etc.  The fruits will be fresh and all within season. 

Scottish Scones *hand-made rather than machine-made to preserve authenticity and though it may not save time, it does make for a phenomenal product.  These will be cream, oat and blueberry, perhaps also huckleberry when in season.

Éclair – two sizes available:  2″ and 4″ (appox) filled with pastry cream, drizzled over the top with chocolate ganache

Profiteroles – sliced in half, filled with cream of a variety of flavors, drizzled with chocolate ganache.

Baci di Dama – Kisses of the Lady – Italian coffee cookie, small and round, made of almonds and hazelnut chocolate crème.  Absolutely decadent though you would never know it to look at them! 

Biscotti:  American style, so they will not break your teeth in the following flavors:  Almond, Anise, Vanilla bean dipped on the bottom in chocolate, Blueberry Pomegranate Almond, White Chocolate Almond, Cherry Chocolate Chip, Lemon-Almond, Orange with chocolate dipped on the bottom

Madelines:  Plain and White Chocolate Almond

French Macaroons:  Almond, hazelnut

Muffins:  Blueberry, Whole-grain All-Bran, Morning Glory, Chocolate-Chip filled with Cream-Cheese, Snickerdoodle

Mini Tarts (fruit, linzer-torte)

Grandpa’s Cinnamon Rolls

Specialty tarts, seasonal, these are created by me personally.

Handmade Truffles in the winter (ie: Spicy Pistachio, Dark Chocolate, and Almond)

Carrot Cake with our own Cream Cheese Frost

Jonna’s Red Velvet Special (Cupcake and Frosting Combo) Frosting is a cooked flour frosting, a specialty recipe from the South.  Not too sweet but JUST sweet enough!

Tiramisu Cupcake *Contains alcohol  **  Ladyfinger cupcake with a drizzle of espresso syrup throughout generously topped with mascarpone, marsala wine and cream frost with just a hint of cocoa and shaved dark chocolate.  This is tiramisu you can take with you!

Chocolate Raspberry Decadence *Contains alcohol ** Contains Chambord liqueur, however this little delight, topped with fresh raspberries and a light meringue. 

Chocolate Chai Spice with Chai Spice, Chocolate Chunk Buttercream and Bittersweet Chocolate shavings

Flourless Chocolate Truffle Cake (individual serving-size)

Chocolate Malted Cupcakes

S’Mores Cupcakes **  These involve a cupcake made of graham cracker crumbs, topped with home-made marshmallow icing and drizzled with chocolate

Chocolate filled with peanut-butter crème topped with chocolate ganache

Boston Crème Cupcake

Lemon Cakes with Lemon Glaze

Chocolate Lava Cake

Cherry Almond with white chocolate ganache

Chocolate Spice Cupcake * contains chili pepper

 

**  Not all cupcakes will be available every day – however, these will be the flavors that we will make available to our customers should any wish to custom-order cupcakes and/or wedding cakes which we will also do if asked.  Wedding cakes can have buttercream, fondant, marzipan, glaze of any kind or a molding chocolate as frosting and decoration will determine the price.  Cupcakes will also be served in regular or mini sizes, mini cupcakes will be served in boxes of 6 or 12 and mixed flavors.
