Cakes

As promised, here are some pictures of the cakes we’d done this past week and a couple of others as well.

Vanessa's birthday cake

That was young Vanessa’s birthday cake.
Marshmallow Meringue birthday cake

Marshmallow Meringue birthday cake

Here’s a marshmallow meringue birthday cake we did not long ago. The cake was chocolate and was filled with more marshmallow. Could almost be a s’mores cake if I’d thought to add graham crackers! Maybe next time…
Baby shower cake

Baby shower cake

A customer wanted a baby shower cake (think baby garden) for a young mother from Nepal. We did a bit of research and found that new babies in Nepal are traditionally given a bowl of rice and a bag of sweets, so we incorporated that in the cake design.
Box & bow birthday cake

Box & bow birthday cake

This was a birthday cake done recently as well. Pink buttercream with a white fondant bow.
Boxer Birthday

Boxer Birthday

This was a birthday cake for a 4 year-old who wanted his family’s boxer on the cake, so the design became boxes and boxers…chocolate and cream cheese with fondant decorations (boxes, more boxes and a sculpted boxer dog with a golden tag reading “4”.
Camden's soccer birthday

Camden's soccer birthday

Camden turned 7 with this soccer themed cake. The young man on the soccer ball would be Camden.
White cloud birthday

Here is a 6″ white cloud birthday surprise cake – white cloud with our real buttercream (no shortening!) and pearlized jimmies.
Carrot cake birthday

Here is our carrot cake with cream cheese frosting and marzipan carrots.
Breakfast at Tiffany's birthday

Breakfast at Tiffany's birthday

Here is Annie’s Breakfast at Tiffany’s birthday cake. Great fun to make and if you look closely, you just might see the shadow of Audrey Hepburn looking in the window…and cat!
These are just some of the cakes we’ve done lately and we’ll try to get better about posting the pictures!
One other thing we’re doing is taking special orders. As we do small-batch baking, we do not often have recipes that yield hundreds of anything at a time. This allows us to have some control over the quality of the product we put out. Calling in special orders allows us to ensure that if you are really wanting a cinnamon roll (or a dozen) for your office, you will get them before we sell out! If there is anything you are wanting to order, give us a call. If we can do it, we will and will have it waiting for you when you are ready to come in for it! 406-523-3951 for regular bakery items, 406-544-4293 for cakes!
We also have some special events coming up shortly from classes to some very special sales. We will be announcing all of these here as soon as we can. Come visit us in October should you wish to pick up a sugar skull made in honor of Dia de los Muertos festival! Decorate your home/office with them, share with your friends! Buy a plain one and decorate it yourself!
