Thank you, MCT!

We had a wonderful evening at MCT’s VIP soiree! We provided the mini BLT’s with garlic chipotle aioli and the dessert (white cloud cupcakes, red velvet and chocolate Jameson, each accompanied by their own “ghost” figure made of fondant!). We were thrilled to see some of our more regular customers there as well as friends old and new.
It also has to be said, Mission Mountain Winery has got some breathtaking offerings! I didn’t stay quite late enough to try some of the more decadent wines (chocolate wine! Cream sherry!) but I did try their huckleberry wine which would pair so very well with our huckleberry tarts!
Though I did have to leave before the end of the show, what I did see and hear was absolutely wonderful. Break a leg, cast and crew of “A Christmas Carol”! Or as the French would have it: Merde!

We have also been having a very successful Cupcakes for Charity drive thus far – please keep coming in and snap up these red velvets for an excellent cause! The Missoula AIDS Council asks who we are facing AIDS for…it had me thinking of the friends (and in some cases, friends who were chosen family) lost to this horrifying disease in my own life. I’m facing AIDS for them and in their honor…and I’m facing AIDS to help celebrate their lives. I’m facing AIDS because there is still plenty of ignorance out there and there is still a need to face this together. I’m proud to be able to give to the Missoula AIDS Council as our first Cupcakes for Charity drive – they do so much and deserve so much more. Thank you SO much to everyone who has been coming in for cupcakes & red ribbons!

Finally: We’re looking forward to a visitor here tomorrow afternoon….he’s a man who looks shockingly good in red and who loves children and reindeer of the tiny variety. St. Nick! Santa will be here tomorrow and next Saturday (the 12th) from 1-5pm. I know the Grizzlies are playing a play-off game, but hey, it’s a cold stadium and we’ve got Santa, Cloud 9 cocoa from Liquid Planet and goodies! Did I mention Santa?

That said, I have been wanting for a while to let folks know what we’re up to and what we’re baking. It’s been busy enough that there hasn’t been much time for detailed updates, but I count that as a good thing. There are a few good sized projects coming up and we’re preparing now to celebrate the Nutcracker with Garden City Ballet. Saturday night Mayor John Engen will be performing Mother Ginger! I have to say, that’s a must-see…
Also, we’re adding new things to our menu almost daily, so drop in sometime and taste something decadent! Your tastebuds will thank you.
